Clean + Protect ™ is made with patented innovative technologies. The plastic changes internally on a micrometric scale, which results in a surface structure that provides a self-cleaning effect that prevents bacterial growth.
By using the technology, the surface of the products is made more resistant to attack by microbes and bacteria, as well as reducing challenges associated with biofilm (adhesion). This technology delivers a self-cleaning performance of 99.3% or higher, measured according to ISO 22196 or JIS Z2801. It does not migrate (does not leak out) and only creates a cleaner surface that prevents bacteria from attaching or multiplying.
The technology becomes part of the product's material composition during the production process. For example, during the plastic injection process, the extrusion process or the blow molding process. Usually it will be 3% of the material (or material layer). Implementing the self-cleaning property requires a homogeneous blend of Clean + Protect ™, which is the technology itself, along with the receiver material (your standard material). No other or special requirements are required.
